Description
Inspired by a Marble Bust I saw in Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera. which is known for its unique architectural style, with forms inspired by nature, and for its constructional and functional innovations designed by Antoni Gaudi. The bust is by an unknown artist, beautifully carved and finished capturing a look i have never seen in marble before. I was spell bound and in awe, taking several pictures when I saw it. Painted predominantly in February 2025 while running a solo exhibition in Bruton Somerset. As always, I challenged myself by attempting it, unsure if I could capture the look that had so captured me. Entered into the Ilminster Arts Centre open 2025 and is currently exhibited there.
