Bugger Brexit 2023
‘Bugger Brexit 2023’ is my comment about the upsetting situation where the UK left the EU. A political mess and a farce that left me and others disgusted and bereft, and I’m still not over it, (rant over).
Here you can see Britannia, a female figure or personification, who symbolizes the United Kingdom and British national pride, strength, and unity. She is often depicted with a shield, trident, and Corinthian helmet and wearing a roman robe. I have portrayed her naked, stripped of all the identity and security within the public domain, vulnerable and without her shield or trident. She is wearing a red head scarf, unravelling and has dropped a red rose beside her.
Drawn with coloured pastels on white cartridge paper in early 2023 and is signed on the back.
This original artwork image measures 39cm x 56cm and framed, in an upcycled solid wood charity shop fame, measures 59.5cm x 78.5cm.
