Seatoller Mist and Sedge Grass 2 is an evocative artwork created by Bob during a rainy day in the Lake District. While Bobs wife and good friend where climbing a small section of the mountain, Bob was sheltering from the battering rain, he observed the scene outside his motorhome and felt compelled to capture its essence. Seatoller, a starting point for the family’s favourite route up Scafell, England’s tallest mountain, provided the perfect backdrop for his sketches. The mountains in the background are faintly visible, but it is the sedge grass in the foreground that steals the show. This grass, a staple in the wetter areas of the Lake District, adds a touch of realism and authenticity to the piece.
Bob’s ability to capture the wet day in a rural space is evident through his use of mist and rain.
